Welcome

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you and your child to Brimsdown Primary School. We are a “Good” school with Outstanding early years provision and behaviour and attitudes. We believe that every child is unique, and we aim to nurture and inspire them in a safe, secure and stimulating environment.

At Brimsdown, we are committed to giving each child the best education, creating a love of learning and a curiosity about the world around them. We strongly believe that it is important for our whole school community to treat each other with respect and to inspire each other to succeed. We believe all stakeholders have the right and the ability to create, learn and motivate together in order to establish a stable and motivational community which benefits all pupils.

This is an inclusive, kind, and happy school. Pupils behave exceptionally well around the school. They are polite and are keen to help others. Pupils follow an interesting and well-thought-out curriculum. This exceeds the scope of the national curriculum. A range of interesting trips and activities enrich the curriculum and develop pupils’ skills. Pupils are proud of their school.

The very strong ethos of inclusion is exemplified by the teaching of British Sign Language. All pupils learn to sign, which means that they can communicate with the deaf pupils in the school, as well as learning a useful life skill. There is a strong focus on developing pupils as active young citizens. Many pupils take on additional responsibilities such as reading buddies and sports leaders. Pupils have been involved in campaigns to raise the profile of British Sign Language at football grounds.
