Joining Reception

We are a two-form entry school, which means that we welcome 60 children into our Reception class each year. We occasionally have in-year places available too.

We would love to show you around our wonderful school and we hold tours throughout the autumn term. Our open days are a great opportunity to experience what Brimsdown has to offer. You’ll receive a guided tour of the school, attend an information presentation, meet our pupils and teachers, and have the chance to ask questions.

Nursery and Reception Open Days

• Thursday 27th November 2025, 9am – 10am
• Thursday 8th January 2026, 9am – 10am

If you’d like to see our school at other times of the year, please give us a call and we’ll arrange a day and time that suits you and your child.

Applying for a Place

You can apply for a Reception place at Brimsdown via Enfield Council. If you would like any more information please call them on 020 8379 5501. If your child is starting school in September 2026 you need to apply for a place by 15 January 2026.

We are committed to ensuring that children settle happily into school. During the summer term before they start in Reception, you will receive information about your child’s induction process, including an information meeting and start dates.

In-year Admissions

We sometimes have places available for children who are new to the area or are looking to move school. To apply for an in-year place at Brimsdown, please see the information on Enfield Council’s website on how to make an in-year application.  

Appeals

If your child has not been offered a place at the school of choice you may appeal. You can find out more about how to do this on the Enfield Council website.
